My Minnesota | February Edition Somehow, I really let myself slack off of my personal shooting this month. Boo! But, I managed to bring my camera out into the community at least once in February. My hubby and I took the girls to open skate at a local ice rink. The girls did great and we all had a blast! You may notice that there are not many zero photos of us actually on the ice. Let’s just say that my ice skating skills were a little rusty. This Texan girl hasn’t put ice skates on in a few years 😉 And let’s face it, I was never a figure skating champ to begin with. Hubby remembers skating once in his entire life, soooo there was that learning curve, too. Anyway, we all survived and lived to tell about it, AND no one even fell. Annnnd, in case you didn’t know, I team up every month with a group of MN photographers and we share our perspectives on Minnesota. This month I link up to the super talented Erin. She photographs her everyday moments, and she’s really amazing at it! Check out her February in Minnesota here! Then, follow the circle to check out what my other friends […]
My Minnesota Hello friends! I’m excited to be teaming up with some local photographer friends again! We band together once a month to showcase what Minnesota looks like for each of our own perspectives. I love supporting these hard-working and talented ladies. And, I really enjoy seeing their fabulous work!
I am back teaming up with my Minnesota photog friends! My Minnesota in May was all about the buzzing bees, new life and a colorful, changing landscape. So, with all that inspiration, I worked on my macro photography quite a bit! We had many visits to one of our favorite Minnesota spots, the MN landscape arboretum, and also hung out in our own yard. One of the hi-lights of the month was a (we think freshly hatched) butterfly that crawled all over our flowers and our hands for hours without flying away! I link up to the talented Sarah of Sarah Ann Photography this month! Follow the link to see what Sarah’s Minnesota looked like. You can check out what Sarah’s Minnesota looked like here!
I’m back again to share what My Minnesota looks like along with a few of my favorite local photographers. I took a literal approach to the project this month and spent an afternoon photographing the environment. With the exception of the last two images, I captured this set using the lensbaby edge 80. I just love the tiny “slice of focus” I can get with this lens, as well as the dreamy look is gives to outdoor images. I hope you take the time to follow the circle around to see what the other photographers were up to in January. I link to the sweet and amazing Ally of Allyson Wasmund Photography. And here’s what January in Minnesota looked like to me…. Don’t forget to check out Ally’s blog to see what her Minnesota looked like!
My Minnesota in October has been quite a sight! Being a native Texan, the colors of the fall foliage here never cease to amaze me. This year, it seems like the colors were as vibrant as I’ve seen them since our moving here seven years ago….or maybe that’s just how they looked through my lens. Anyway, I spent October photographing wonderful clients, and in my “spare time,” I looked towards the beauty around me. I captured the drying flowers and grasses, leaves in shades of yellow, orange and red, and the golden grasses. This may also be my favorite time of year to shoot during the morning and evening golden hours. The fall sun seems to transform even everyday things into objects of beauty. It’s been a beautiful month here, so you’re sure to enjoy seeing what my fellow Minnesotan photographers saw this month. I hope you take a few minutes to follow the blog circle around. Check the end of my post for a link to the talented Sarah of Sarah Ann Photography. This one is always looking for the best leaf. She found a big one 🙂 Found this leaf beautifully lit by the mid-day sun on […]
Welcome back to the My Minnesota blog circle! I’m sharing images from some of my family’s favorite September adventures for this edition of My Minnesota. We started the month with a visit to a local apple orchard where the girls picked apples, met horses, and checked out farm equipment. I took the girls to a local Mexican bakery and grocery store, where I found I could purchase Mexican vanilla, one of my favorite baking staples! My hubby and I got to tour some local wineries with a group of awesome neighbors. We made our annual visit to Sever’s corn maze. I did some location scouting on my own where I found some lovely scenery and saw some spectacular fall sunsets. And, the girls got to travel with me to a shoot where they got to ride AND feed horses! Wow, it was a busy month!!! Thanks for checking out my month! See what Minnesota looked like to my talented friend Erin here! And, since she’s joining us for the first time this month, be sure to visit her Facebook page, too!
June was full of water, and it came in a variety of forms. We (finally!) welcomed the return of warmer days, which meant playing in the sprinklers, splashing in swimsuits, and visits to our local beaches and lakes. We also experienced heaps of rain, which actually caused some flooding, but at least it was was good for a little puddle-jumping in the rain boots! Here’s what our Minnesota in June looked like! Thank you so much for stopping by to see My Minnesota in June. You can continue the blog circle by visiting Tina Fisher’s blog. And, you can check out her Facebook fan page here!
