There are so many great things about being a lifestyle newborn photographer. One of those things is that my style does not require you to book your session within the first days after delivery! I tell the story over and over again to my clients and friends…if someone had told me they were coming TO MY HOUSE to photograph my newborn and family just days after arriving home from the hospital, I would have laughed…or maybe cried, or maybe both 😉 I was a mess. My house was a mess. Everything was a MESS (In hindsight, do I wish I had those photos, of course, but that’s another story!). Are things easier when your little one is under two weeks of age? Yes, of course…your baby will probably be sleeping a ton and she won’t be quite as fussy as she will likely get in the next few weeks. But, can I still capture beautiful, natural moments even if your little one is several weeks old? Yes! And those memories are SO worth capturing! And, if you’re like I was and need a few extra weeks to get things together after delivering that precious little bundle, that’s OK! This little honey was just shy of one month old at her session. She was so precious and THAT HAIR!? I mean just look at it! She did a little napping, and a lot of observing her sweet momma & daddy & big brother. And, how special that her great grandma was there to grab some kisses, too?
