Chanhassen lifestyle photographer Last week I shared the sneak peek of the adorable C family. I am back to share even more sun-drenched goodness from their family session. Baby CC recently turned one-year-old, so her family contacted me to document that milestone. I am so glad they did! Minnesota provided a beautiful night with perfect weather. The C family provided smiles and giggles. Baby CC showed off new teeth and new (walking) moves. Big brother was full of life, laughter and cuddles for mom, dad, and little sister. This family wanted a photo session to document an important milestone. Their little lady turned one! I am so excited that I was able to capture her taking a few steps. chaska photographer| family & fireworks Chaska Photographer | The 4th of July was always one of my favorite holidays growing up. And, now it’s a favorite for my family! This was by far the best 4th holiday we’ve had. This year the kids were old enough to do a little more than in years past. We are able to cut the naps a little shorter. And, the littles stayed awake a little later. They were even allowed to watch the entire fireworks show. That was a first for both girls. Too bad no one slept in on the fifth! We usually visit the local Chanhassen fair. This year, the popular event, A Taste of Minnesota was held close to home. So we gave it a visit instead. The kids loved the carnival rides and getting a “taste of Minnesota.” Both girls rode ponies. There was even a petting zoo! We wrapped up with some quintessential fair fare, cotton candy and snow cones. After the “taste,” the kids took power naps. Then, I painted my girls’ faces (a tradition on the 4th). Victoria Fresh 48 and Newborn Photographer: Welcome baby B!

I am thrilled to be offering Fresh 48 sessions. There is something about capturing those honest emotions of new parents, and the fresh details and brand new movements of little ones. I met baby B when she was just one day new for a Fresh 48 session, then visited her again in her home about a week later for a lifestyle newborn session. my minnesota : june edition (water, water, everywhere!)

June was full of water, and it came in a variety of forms. We (finally!) welcomed the return of warmer days, which meant playing in the sprinklers, splashing in swimsuits, and visits to our local beaches and lakes. We also experienced heaps of rain, which actually caused some flooding, but at least it was was good for a little puddle-jumping in the rain boots! Here’s what our Minnesota in June looked like! butterflies & flowers at the landscape arboretum

We took our girls to the MN landscape arboretum this weekend to see the butterfly exhibit. Both girls loved the butterflies, as well as the other sights & sounds of the arboretum. The girls felt like princesses in their own secret garden (one even donned an “Elsa braid”!). They turned sticks into magic wands, splashed in the fountains, explored the gardens, and made plans for coming back to this magical land very soon!

april showers bring…may dandelions

We had lots and lots of rain in April….and in may we got lots of dandelions. Fortunately (??), my girls are expert dandelion pickers. We found these “flowers” everywhere…at the lake, at our house, on walks, in parking lots….My daughters put them in bags, in their pockets, in vases, in their hair….you get the point. Let’s just say I’m glad June is finally here 😉

April’s melting snow and warmer temperatures made way for trips to the park, puddle jumping, and muddy adventures. We had so much outdoor fun, that I’ve decided to share our shenanigans in two parts. So, here are some of my favorites of my silly girls from the beginning of April.

scrub-a-dub, sisters in a tub

Well, the spring weather came for a couple days and then it left again :(. We got another snowstorm last week, and in an effort to keep things positive, I let the girls go swimming…in the bathtub! They were very excited to get such a treat, and stayed in the water well past the raisiny-finger stage. I had fun watching them “swim” and play, and was so intrigued at watching them interact with each other. They are close in age, but have starkly different personalities. My little one is fierce and independent, observant and a real dare-devil. But, as I watched through my lens, I noticed she’s still very much in awe of her big sister, imitating her at every chance. My first-born is gentle, cautious, emotional and kind-hearted. Can you guess who each girl is?
