This family is near and dear to my heart. My friend Ashley was one of the first people I met when we moved into our new community. Our girls are the exact same ages. We’ve laughed and cried together. We’ve spent holidays at the same dining table, and many a happy hour on each others decks. It is always a pleasure to capture this family and the love they have for one another. This session was especially sweet because my friend and her husband are about to celebrate ten years of marriage! I always make a point to grab a few shots of mom and dad together without the kids, but we spent a little extra time on these two love birds in this session.

And before I share the photos from this session, I want to share a little behind-the-scenes story…after getting a few photos in some nearby green space, we made our way to the lake and beach for sunset shots. Much to our surprise, the normally quiet area was full of people picnicking! And, even more concerning, was that more than 3/4 of the beach front was blocked off with a BRIGHT ORANGE plastic gate!! It was too late to leave and head to the next closest beach. So, the photos you see were taken in the only teeny, tiny area of beach that was available! I’m not gonna lie, everyone was at least a little bit worried. We each took a deep breath and worked with what was available. And I’m SO glad we stayed, because I think their photos are magical 🙂
